OwlGuardian for care homes and senior living

Every resident protected. Every inbox still their own.

Managed scam protection you switch on at move-in and run from the front desk. Scam emails are stopped before residents see them, the right person is alerted, and nobody on staff ever reads a resident's mail.

Starting at $2.99/month per protected person. Now enrolling pilot communities.

What happens to every email

Quiet protection in the background. A human decision when it matters.

  1. A resident gets an email

Their normal Gmail, on any device.

  2. OwlGuardian checks it

AI looks for phishing, fake invoices, impostors and pressure tactics.

  3. Safe mail arrives. Scams are held.

    • Everyday mail → inbox, untouched
    • Scam → quarantine, out of sight
  4. The Trusted Contact decides

Family, or a staff member the resident chose. Release it or keep it out in two taps.

How enrollment works

Part of the move-in checklist, like the key and the mailbox

Move-in is the one moment when the resident, their family and your team are all in the same room. That's when protection gets switched on.

  1. Move-in day

    Enroll in ten minutes

The front desk adds the resident from a simple console. The resident connects their Gmail and agrees to protection, with family alongside.

  2. Same visit

    Choose a Trusted Contact

Usually a son or daughter. Residents without family nearby can name a designated staff member instead. The resident decides.

  3. Every day

    Protected in the background

Scam emails are held before they're opened. With Call My Owl, residents can check a suspicious text or letter by asking Siri.

  4. Every month

    A report for your team

Enrollment, threats stopped and the scams circulating locally. It makes a useful update for families and a strong point to share on tours.

The front desk console

Your team runs enrollment. They never see inside an inbox.

Add or remove a resident in a click, see who's protected, and know when the scam count spikes so you can warn everyone at the next residents' meeting.

  • One-click enroll and un-enroll, with consent recorded
  • Protection status for every resident at a glance
  • Alerts only for residents who chose a staff member as their Trusted Contact
  • Monthly report, ready to share with families
Illustrative design. Example community and data.

Protection, not monitoring

Residents keep their privacy and their independence

Scam protection only works if residents trust it. So the line is simple, and it's built into the product.

Your team can see

  • Who is enrolled and protected
  • How many threats were stopped, in total and per resident
  • Alerts for residents who chose a staff member as Trusted Contact
  • The monthly community report

Nobody at your community can see

  • A resident's everyday email, contacts or calendar
  • Bank, health or personal correspondence
  • Flagged emails, unless the resident chose them as Trusted Contact
  • Anything at all, without the resident's consent

OwlGuardian passed Google's Cloud Application Security Assessment (CASA). Data is double-encrypted on Amazon Web Services, and flagged messages are deleted after review. Privacy policy.

Why communities choose it

Good for residents, families and your team

Residents

Fewer frightening emails, no new habits to learn, and a quick answer from Call My Owl whenever something looks wrong. Their inbox stays theirs.

Families

Peace of mind from day one, and a say in what gets through. It's a tangible answer to “how will you keep Mom safe?” on a tour.

Your team

Fewer crisis calls and fewer distressed residents at the desk after a scam. And a clear record that you took reasonable steps to protect residents.

Pricing

Simple per-resident pricing

Billed to the community each month for enrolled residents only. Include it in your technology or amenity fee, or offer it as a resident add-on.

Questions from communities.

Can staff read residents' email?
No. Nobody at the community can see a resident's everyday email. The front desk sees enrollment status and how many threats were stopped. Flagged emails are only shown to the resident's chosen Trusted Contact, and a staff member is only a Trusted Contact if the resident (or their legal representative) picks them.
Who decides whether a quarantined email gets released?
The resident's Trusted Contact. Most residents choose a son or daughter. Residents without family nearby can choose a designated staff member. The resident can always open the app and see what has been held.
What about residents with memory loss?
Enrollment follows your existing consent process. Where a resident has a legal representative, such as an agent under a power of attorney, that person consents and can be the Trusted Contact. We recommend involving family at move-in. Our guide on dementia and scams covers what families can do alongside.
Does it work with every email provider?
Email protection works with Gmail today, which is the most common address among new residents. Outlook and Hotmail are in beta, and Yahoo and AOL are on the way. Call My Owl, the screenshot and photo scam check, works for any resident with an iPhone, whatever email they use.
Do residents need a smartphone?
Not for email protection. A resident connects their Gmail once, on the web or in the app, and protection runs in the background. Call My Owl needs an iPhone. The Trusted Contact uses the OwlGuardian iPhone app to review alerts.
How is it billed?
Per enrolled resident, per month, invoiced to the community. Pricing starts at $2.99/month per protected person for communities with 20 or more enrolled residents. Many communities include it in their technology or amenity fee; others offer it as a resident add-on.
What if a resident moves out?
The front desk un-enrolls them in one step and billing stops at the end of that month. The resident or their family can keep protection by moving to a personal OwlGuardian subscription.
