Comparison
SeniorShield app vs OwlGuardian: an honest comparison
The verdict
SeniorShield and OwlGuardian are the closest match on this site: both are AI scam apps for older adults. SeniorShield is built around checking messages your parent sends it, plus scam education and a browser extension, and it runs on iPhone and Android. OwlGuardian screens Gmail automatically so scam email never reaches your parent, and gives you the release decision. Pick SeniorShield for Android, education and text-in checks; pick OwlGuardian for hands-off Gmail protection.

Choose SeniorShield if
- Your parent uses an Android phone or an older iPhone that can't run iOS 18.
- Your parent is comfortable sending suspicious messages to be checked, and you want that to work by plain text message.
- You want quizzes and scam simulations to build your parent's own skills.
- You want browser protection on a computer through Chrome.
- Your parent's senior living community already offers SeniorShield.
Choose OwlGuardian if
- Your parent uses Gmail and you don't want them to have to spot or forward anything.
- You want scam emails held back before they are read, not checked after.
- You, as the Trusted Contact, want to decide what gets through.
- Your parent has memory problems and should not be the last line of defense.
- You want the lower monthly price: $4.99 vs $6.99, with a 30-day trial.
Using both: There is real overlap between the two, so most families will pick one. A family that wants both automatic Gmail screening and SeniorShield's quizzes or Chrome extension could run them side by side.
